Dennis Stack IV, of the Marlboro Township New Jersey Police Department Explorer Post #105, is the recipient of the Lt. James E. Breining Scholarship Award for 2016. The board was pleased to present Dennis $1,500 toward his college education during the National Law Enforcement Explorer Conference held in July at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. Dennis was recommended by his Advisor and the Captain of the Police Department sponsoring his Explorer Post. His accomplishments are many including: Captain of his Explorer Post that he has been involved with for 5 years; volunteering over 500 hours of community service earning the Community Service Award for 2013-2015; Captain of his High School’s Law Enforcement and Public Safety Academy; Track and Field Team; Eagle Scout; Manalapan High School Honor Roll 2011-2015; Saint Thomas More Church Server and Usher; Bayshore Hospital Volunteer; Venture Shooting Crew President and Manalapan High School Presidential Volunteer Service Award Gold.

The Lt. James E. Breining Scholarship Award established in 2008 to recognize the active Law Enforcement Explorer who best embodies the character and spirit of Exploring. Character, ethics, and demonstrated leadership in Law Enforcement Exploring and in the community is what drove Jim Breining to remain a steadfast promoter of this program for his entire adult life. To continue Jim’s tireless efforts, the foundation helps pay college education for those Law Enforcement Explorers who possess these ideals and we encourage them to apply for this scholarship. www.JEBscholar.org
