2016 National Fire & Emergency Services Exploring Conference Back

BACKGROUND: Explorers and advisors from across the country will come together for a week of
team and individual competitions, seminars, demonstrations, exhibits, recreation and fun.

DATES: July 18-22, 2016 (Mon-Fri)


LOCATION: Northern Arizona University, Flagstaff, AZ

COST: The conference fee is $375.00 per Explorer or adult. Fee includes meals and housing and the $50 per person non-refundable deposit. The non-refundable post registration fee is $150.00.


All Fire and Emergency Services Exploring activities will take place at a local Fire Training Center in Flagstaff, AZ. The Explorers will be housed in the dormitories on the campus at Northern Arizona University and transported to the training center.

In addition, the Explorers will be participating in the Conference opening and closing shows, entertainment night, and demonstrations.

Team competitions will include: CPR & AED, Spinal Immobilization & movement, Haz-Mat Recognition & Identification, Personal protective clothing & SCBA Relay, FF Search & Rescue, Make & Break, Firefighter combat challenge, and Taking a Hydrant (Team relay).

Individual events will include: One-Person CPR, Candidate Physical Ability Test (Modified CPAT), Written Examination (Entry level), Incident Management on-line classes/Test (IMS 100 & 700), Wildland fire shelter deployment, PPE & SCBA time (2-min drill), Taking a Hydrant, and Knot Tying.

All Fire and Emergency Explorer Posts registered with Learning for Life are eligible to attend the conference. The 2016 National Fire and Emergency Services Exploring Conference registration will be online. The Guidebook is available by clicking the link in the right column of this page. The Guidebook contains detailed information about the conference including the Advisor Checklist to assist with the registration process.
