This session will present an overview of the mechanical engineering discipline and will allow Explorers to conduct a short, fun experiment that is related to mechanical engineering.
This session introduces Explorers to the wide array of computer science jobs, programming languages and education requirements through a web-based Jeopardy-style game format.
In this session, Explorers will begin with an overview of the computer science discipline, and they will then conduct a short, fun investigation that is related computer science.
Explorers will be introduced to the design process through the creation of a website.
Explorers will be introduced to the design process through the creation of a game or animation.
If you find yourself searching for better ways to do things, you’re thinking like an industrial engineer. Industrial engineers use their knowledge of science, mathematics, and engineering—along with design, computer science, operations management, and other disciplines—to design systems that are simpler, higher quality, a better value, safer, and more efficient.
Engineers work to solve the difficult problems that face our society. Whether it’s building a bridge to cross a river, creating a new machine to manufacture cars, or fitting a huge amount of technology into a smartphone, an engineer’s work can leave a lasting impact on society.
Explorers will be introduced to one of the standards used in engineering, called a design process.
